This publication discusses breast cancer screening and current guidelines, family history, clinical utility of polygenic risk, and a series of clinical studies looking at validation of geneType against additional models. It also provides commentary from Dr Nicole Yap, a breast surgeon who practices oncoplastic surgery in Melbourne.
The consensus statements and manuscripts from the 6th Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI) Global Summit on Improving Breast Healthcare through Resource-Stratified Phased Implementation (Seattle 2018) have now been published (April 29 2020) as a supplement in the journal Cancer, and are listed below. This supplement is the culmination of months of collaborative work by experts in breast and women’s health, cancer control, implementation science, economics, disparities, policymaking, public health, patient advocacy and health systems with authors representing all resource settings across 5 continents.
