• Access to ASBD online educational webinars and courses
  Currently ALERT Lymphoedema Modules, Pathology Fundamentals Modules and Breast Surgery 101 webinar are offered free to members, with plans for Oncology 101 and Genetics 101 webinars to be available in early 2022.
• Cross discipline connectivity and collegiality
  Facilitated by the nature of the executive structure, our multidisciplinary conferences and workshops and by features of our online member’s area: the online forum and members’ contact list (subject to permission by each member).
• Priority access to ASBD workshops
  ASBD members are given advanced notice of ASBD workshops to allow early registration prior to publication of the workshop to our contact list.
• Discount on conference and workshop fees
• Conference dinners included in registration
  ASBD Scientific Meeting dinner costs are absorbed for members but from January 1 2020 an additional cost will be charged for non-members to attend dinners. Dinners at jointly hosted conferences are subject to individual negotiation.
• Multidisciplinary forum on the website for members
  ASBD has launched (April 2020) a members’ forum on the secure members’ website as a place for discussions across disciplines around the topic of breast health. Ask a question, provide a case for discussion, supply information or a point of view.
• Member’s private and secure area of the website
  Expanding to include more extensive resources for members including recently, videos of conference breakfast sessions.
• ASBD newsletters
  Published at least twice a year, interspersed by other online update emails
• Member discounts on abstract publication in The Breast journal.

THE BREAST JOURNAL

Elsevier made changes to the production of The Breast journal from January 1 2020 (see announcement below). The hard copy journal is no longer published, and the online journal is now open access. We no longer need to charge a subscription for journal access, as it can be accessed for free online. As part of our ongoing arrangements with Elsevier, ASBD members will receive a 30% discount on the article publishing charge (APC) listed below. ASBD will still publish a selection of submitted abstracts from our Scientific Meetings in The Breast free of charge.

Digital copies of THE BREAST JOURNAL are available on our site.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM ELSEVIER

"From January 2020 The Breast is an open access journal. Authors who publish in The Breast will be able make their work immediately, permanently, and freely accessible. The Breast authors will pay an article publishing charge (APC), have a choice of license options, and retain copyright to their published work. The Breast continues with the same aims and scope, editorial team, submission system and rigorous peer review. The APC will be requested after peer review and acceptance and will be required for all accepted articles submitted after 1 October 2019. The APC for The Breast is USD 1800 (excluding taxes) for Original Research Articles and Review Articles, USD 800 (excluding taxes) for Short Format Articles (Short Communications, Viewpoints and Debates). Correspondence is free of charge for all authors."
