Your long-term breast cancer risk after an early scare
An early form of breast cancer—ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS)—is often found by women themselves, not as part of screening programs. Even though it can come as a shock, it is not generally considered a dangerous form of cancer. But a new study shows that even decades after diagnosis, women who find this form of cancer are at higher risk of developing invasive breast cancer and even dying from it.So what interventions are most protective?
