Professor Mary Rickard

Prof Mary Rickard graduated from the University of Sydney, trained in radiology and worked in hospital and private practice before being appointed as director of a pilot mammography screening project in 1987. The pilot projects became part of BreastScreen Australia and Mary continued with BreastScreen as a Service Director and later as NSW State Radiologist. Between 2006 and 2018 she worked at Sydney Breast Clinic as Chief Radiologist, and in 2022 was appointed as Medical Director. Since 2010 she has held a position of Adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney in the Faculty of Medicine and Health. Mary has published extensively and has been actively involved with numerous professional bodies.

In 2002 she received a Member of the Order of Australia award for service to medicine through the integration of population-based screening for early detection of breast cancer, and the development of education programmes for health professionals.

In October 2015 she was elected a Life Membership to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the College and to the profession.

Dr Ellie Mulyadi

Dr Ellie Mulyadi 

Dr Ellie Mulyadi graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2002 and completed her radiology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2013, followed by subspecialty training in MRI and Breast Imaging. She is a senior radiologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and co-leads the Breast Imaging Unit. She also holds appointments with BreastScreen NSW, The San Hospital, and Sydney Breast Clinic. Dr. Mulyadi has extensive experience across all breast imaging modalities, with particular proficiency  in contrast-enhanced mammography, MRI, and image-guided interventions.

Dr Peter Chin

Peter Chin is the lead breast surgeon at Tauranga Hospital, New Zealand . He graduated from the University of Melbourne and gained post-fellowship experience at the Edinburgh Breast Unit. Peter is an executive director of the Australasian Society for Breast Disease, a member of the Oncoplastic subcommittee of BreastSurgANZ and is an honorary lecturer with the University of Auckland. He is a passionate teacher in Oncoplastic surgery, having convened several Oncoplastic workshops and contributed to the University of Sydney’s Breast course. Peter performs a wide range of Oncoplastic procedures including Therapeutic Mammaplasty, Perforator flaps, fat grafting, Implant-based as well as autologous Lat Dorsi Flap reconstruction.

Dr Samriti Sood

A director of ASBD. Dr Samriti Sood is a specialist breast oncoplastic surgeon who offers expertise in the management of women with all breast-related conditions. Dr Sood specialises in oncology and oncoplastic surgery. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a member of General Surgeons Australia and the BreastSurgANZ Society.

Dr Vanessa Atienza-Hipolito

Dr Vanessa Atienza-Hipolito FRANZCR is a Radiologist with extensive experience in breast imaging and image-guided breast intervention, practising at Women’s & Breast Imaging (WBI) in Western Australia. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) and has over two decades of clinical experience in diagnostic radiology, with a focused clinical practice in women’s imaging, breast screening, and minimally invasive breast procedures.

Dr Hammerton is a Breast Physician and General Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in breast health, preventative care, and family breast cancer risk. She has previously served as Senior Medical Officer and Medical Director at BreastScreen Sunshine Coast, bringing both expertise and compassion to every patient.
